‘Hop To It’ – IPPC’s National Frog Survey 2017
When: Thursday, February 2nd 2017
Where: Bog of Allen Nature Centre, Co. Kildare.
Time: 10am – 4pm
Event Information: Every year the Irish Peatland Conservation Council (IPPC) call on the public for a helping hand in order to count their frog populations in Ireland as part of their annual frog surveys. This year, the event will take place on ‘World Wetlands Day‘. There will be so many things for everyone to do including lots of fun-filled family activities such as frog searching and pond-dipping. There is also a museum and garden trail where people of all ages can learn about the importance of peatlands for the Irish environment.

Site Restoration at Jonesborough Forest: Volunteering Event

Event Information: This event is novice-friendly as the conservationists are looking for the public to volunteer their Saturday afternoon to help out with restoring vegetation that has been destroyed during the winter months in the Jonesborough Forest. An Taisce – All Ireland Pollinator Plan Meeting (Public)

IWT Trip to The Morrough

Event Information: The Murrough stretches 15km along the east coast of Ireland between Wicklow and Kilcoole. This event is a nature-walk style event which involves a guided trip along The Murrough whereby coastal scenery can be admired as well as a vast range of amazing wildlife and habitats such as wet grasslands, marshes, reed beds and fen.
The event is not free to the general public – the cost of €5 will be charged for non-IWT members while IWT members will have free admission. Transport (train tickets etc.) are also not included and will be personal expenses for those wishing to join the event.
